September 13 was the grand opening of Collierville’s newest bridal boutique, Maggie Louise. Mahaffey was absolutely thrilled to be a part of this event, sponsoring the boutique and providing bistro tables and linens. We were so impressed by the chic atmosphere and beautiful designer wedding gowns that were on display. This boutique is one-of-a-kind in Memphis, offering couture wedding dresses.
Maggie Louise is open for appointments only, Monday and Wednesday through Saturday. Be sure to follow @mlbridal on Twitter, @maggielouisebridal on Instagram and Maggie Louise on Facebook for updated news and more fabulous pictures!
Consignment shops have become a popular alternative when shopping, and today’s brides are now joining in on the trend.
Brides have been turning to bridal consignment stores for dresses, decorations and more! Not only are these places great for brides-to-be, but they are also fantastic for newlyweds who need extra cash. Most bridal consignment shops also offer dresses for bridesmaids, school dances and parties.
For future brides, these shops create the perfect place to purchase price reduced designer dresses and decorations. For the newly married, consignment shops offer cash for those decorations residing in the attic and dresses never to be worn again.
Bridal Bargainistas was an event that made its way to Memphis this past July. This bridal and event consignment sale not only offered wedding dresses but everything from candles to bouquet jewelry. They will return next July, so whether you will be needing a wedding dress or ready to sell your gently used decorations, the Bridal Bargainistas sale could be for you!
The Barefoot Bride in Memphis is another shop going green, offering consignment dresses. Although consignment dresses do not make up their complete inventory, they still accept and sell new and gently worn dresses under five years. Make your appointment today and join in on this new trend!

Many brides are kissing traditional ways goodbye! It’s generally accustom for a bride to wear one dress on her wedding day, but one of the latest and hottest new trends is to have two wedding day dresses – one for the ceremony and one for the reception. We’ve seen lots of celebrities, including Carrie Underwood, participate in this trend! Take a look at her beautiful, custom made Monique Lhuillier gowns.
Of course we know that a Monique Lhuillier gown (especially two custom ones) isn’t exactly what the average woman would call affordable, but no worries! We’ve found some fancy 2-in-1 options by David’s Bridal that won’t break the bank. 🙂 We love this first look because the dress goes from sophisticated to fun with just one zip — we especially love that it’s only $549!
Happy wedding dress shopping to all the brides out there! If you decide to do wear a 2-in-1 gown on your wedding day, we know it’s something you and your guests are sure to remember. Feel free to share your thoughts and pictures with us below in the comments or on our Facebook page! We’d love to hear from you!
