Bridal Rhapsody Extravaganza – Part 2

What a fun day! Despite the July 4th weekend, Sunday’s Bridal Rhapsody Extravaganza was a success! Everything from the fashion show to the cake walk and door/grand prizes came together perfectly.

All brides, regardless of whether they won any prizes, walked away with the latest issue of Southern Bride Magazine. Mahaffey had a wonderful time setting up the booths for all the vendors, the entryway and cafe area, and of course visiting with all the brides-to-be. We are excited to be a part of your big day! A big thank you to our friend Alisa at Club Windward, for the beautiful centerpieces and all of your help! And congrats to our $250 gift card winner.

As cooler temperatures approach, now is the perfect time to book a clear top tent. Memphis Airshow 2011

The Memphis Airshow was held at the Millington Regional Jetport this past weekend. Thousands of people came out to the event, making it a huge success. The airshow featured many different stunt planes, static aircraft displays, exhibits and rides. The highlight of the event was a show by the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Mahaffey was a proud sponsor of the airshow this year and we provided a number of tents, tables and chairs for the event, including food tents, vendor tents, corporate chalets, first aid tents and flight-line seating for viewers to watch the show. Memphis Airshow

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Get your tickets now for the Memphis Airshow, taking place Sept. 17-18 at the Millington Regional Airport. The airshow, which has been held five times since 1999, promises to be a fun-filled event, and Mahaffey is a proud sponsor this year! We’ll be providing a number of pole tents, tables and chairs for the event, including food tents, vendor tents, corporate chalets, first aid tents and flight-line seating for viewers to watch the show. The airshow will feature the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels flying team as well as many other performers. The recession has kept the Blue Angels away for the past four years, so it’s a real treat for them to be back this year!

Aside from the performances, there will be static aircraft displays, exhibits, kid areas, rides, food and drinks. The show will provide the public an opportunity to learn about civilian and military aviation history and celebrate the Centennial of Naval Aviation 2011 and the 65th Anniversary of the Blue Angels. Proceeds from the Memphis Airshow will benefit three United Way agencies: Madonna Learning Center, Boy Scouts of America – Chickasaw Council and Memphis Oral School for the Deaf.

Attention Past Mahaffey Brides: We’ve got a contest just for you!

To enter, just post a photo of your Mahaffey tent or Mahaffey tables and linens on the Mahaffey Facebook Page wall. Then get your friends and family to LIKE your photo. It’s really that simple! The lucky lady with the most likes at the end of the contest is our winner. The prize is a $100 gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond – the perfect extra for a newlywed!

The contest begins today, Wednesday August 10th and will end Wednesday, August 31st at 5pm.

To qualify, you must be a former Mahaffey bride. Your rentals must have included a tent and/or tables and linens from us, and you must have the photographer’s permission to use the photos. The photos will be judged only on the amount of likes received via Facebook. Comments will not be included.

Mahaffey Partner Spotlight: Drapers’s Catering

When taking part in weddings and events, it’s always a wonderful thing to have partners that are reliable and exceptional at what they do.  Draper’s Catering, located at 6116 Macon Road in Memphis, is one of Mahaffey’s preferred partners in wedding and event planning.

Owned and operated by the Draper family, Draper’s Catering co-owners (and husband & wife) Gary and Catherine Draper are also the chefs preparing the delicious food. Gary is the executive chef, while Catherine makes and prepares all of the delicious pastries. Their son, Ryan, is their Operations Manager as well as a Special Event Coordinator.  Two of their three Wedding and Event coordinators also belong to the Draper family, Matthew and Jonathan, with Mrs. Dianne Trammell rounding out the group.
