Carter-Rea Wedding Spotlight

The animals of the Memphis Zoo weren’t the only ones being put on display this past weekend! The Carter-Rea wedding stole the show for this week’s wedding spotlight! Mahaffey Tent & Party Rentals had the privilege of being part of this wildly gorgeous wedding coordinated by Amy Miller Weddings and Events!

Mahaffey’s party rental items, Cashmere Lamour, Gold Satin Napkins, Tableware, and Tuscan chairs made their way on the scene. These items allowed the couple and their guests to enjoy a whimsical array of dining essentials, fit to match the Zoo’s lush settings.

Symphony in the Gardens

Sunday night, Dixon Gallery & Gardens is hosting Symphony in the Gardens. This cherished event, which dates back to 1978, displays talented musicians from the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Symphony in the Gardens is a performance that will surely captivate eyes and ears from all across the room. Dixon also welcomes guests to enhance the night by bringing their own food, beverages, lawn chairs, or picnic!

Did You Know Series: Wedding Consignment

Consignment shops have become a popular alternative when shopping, and today’s brides are now joining in on the trend.

Brides have been turning to bridal consignment stores for dresses, decorations and more! Not only are these places great for brides-to-be, but they are also fantastic for newlyweds who need extra cash. Most bridal consignment shops also offer dresses for bridesmaids, school dances and parties.

For future brides, these shops create the perfect place to purchase price reduced designer dresses and decorations. For the newly married, consignment shops offer cash for those decorations residing in the attic and dresses never to be worn again.

Bridal Bargainistas was an event that made its way to Memphis this past July. This bridal and event consignment sale not only offered wedding dresses but everything from candles to bouquet jewelry. They will return next July, so whether you will be needing a wedding dress or ready to sell your gently used decorations, the Bridal Bargainistas sale could be for you!

The Barefoot Bride in Memphis is another shop going green, offering consignment dresses. Although consignment dresses do not make up their complete inventory, they still accept and sell new and gently worn dresses under five years. Make your appointment today and join in on this new trend!

Rise to the Occasion!

With it being Friday the 13th, we decided to share an upcoming event that will be here again before we know it! Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis’ oldest active cemetery, is hosting Spirits with the Spirits on Saturday, October 20th. Join Mahaffey at the cemetery to celebrate another year! Enjoy spirits, music, historic scenery, food, and black and white movies.

Tickets for the event go on sale here on August 1st. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to party with spirits!

Did You Know Series: Event Tent App

If you are planning a party, wedding, corporate or any type of event that needs TENTS, download the “Event Tent” app, by  IFAI’s Tent Rental Division, that will begin the tent planning process for you! Planning an event is not the easiest thing to do. Especially when you have a checklist of (what seems like) about a million things you have to take care of before the big event takes place.

This app is super easy to use and is similar to Mahaffey’s tent size tool. The app is free to download and once opened, you enter the date of your event, the event type, the location and ground surface. On the second page, you put in your number of guests, seating arrangements and accessories (such as tables and entertainment). Simply hit Calculate after entering your information, and the final page displays your estimated area needed, the best tent size and room to spare. Simple as that! If you need further help, simply enter your information and within MINUTES you will be contacted by the nearest tent rental company, such as Mahaffey, and you can order your tent!
